Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Angel’s Envy produces small-batch finished whiskeys, including flagship bourbon Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon finished in port wine barrels.
Over the tour, Owen takes Maggie through each stage of the distillery’s whiskey-making process, from mashing to distilling to the final product. And of course, the pair finish by trying the port-wine-finished flagship whiskey.
Along the way, Maggie discovers some distillery quirks that nod to its Louisville home — including finding out which animal used to be raced in the hall now used for blending.
Angel’s Envy’s portfolio of whiskeys includes its annually-released Cask Strength Bourbon. In our interview with Owen Martin last year, we found out all about the 2023 edition of the Cask Strength Bourbon, as well as the very first Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Rye.
The Angel’s Envy Distillery opened in 2016. It was named Visitor Attraction of the Year in the Icons of Whisky global awards 2024, and its manager Dee Ford was named Visitor Attraction Manager of the Year.
