For Maker’s Mark, ingredients and the environment in which they come from are crucial to the brand’s ethos. The brand’s culinary influence on their cocktails is thanks to Maker’s Mark’s senior cocktail curator, Leslie Krockenberger. Combining her love of food and cocktails, Krockenberger has created some incredibly unique, culinary-inspired drinks.
Jam Cake Old Fashioned
- 2oz Maker’s 46
- 0.5oz Giffard (or another crème de mure blackberry liqueur)
- 0.5oz 2:1 Turbinado syrup made with a chaispiced tea bag*
- 2 dashes Cacao Angostura bitters
Build ingredients in mixing vessel. Add ice and stir down. Strain into rocks glass and add a large ice cube. Garnish with blackberry and manicured orange peel and expressed orange peel.
*Chai spiced tea bag syrup
Two parts turbinado to one part hot water, with one chai tea bag per 8oz total volume. Allow tea bag to steep in the hot water before adding to the sugar.
