If you can get through reading today’s Friday Cocktail Club recipe without humming a certain Harry Style’s hit then I salute you, and the next round is on me.

As summer is upon us the team at American Whiskey thought it was fitting to bring forth a refreshing little number from the makers of Redemption, perfect for gatherings or to be enjoyed out on the deck during those long summer evenings.

Watermelon, Sugar, Rye
INGREDIENTS

  • 1.5 parts Redemption High Rye Bourbon

  • 1.5 parts salted watermelon-honey syrup

  • ½ part lemon juice 2 parts tonic water

  • Glass: Collins

  • Garnish: Mint



METHOD

  • Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a Collins glass and top up with tonic water

  • Garnish with a watermelon radish slice and a mint bushel



WATERMELON HONEY SYRUP METHOD:

  • Blend 1 cup Watermelon Purée (Perfect Puree or Real Ingredients) with 1 cup honey simple syrup

  • Add 2 teaspoons Malden salt and stir to dissolve

  • Cool in the refrigerator

  • Keeps for 1 month.
