O’Shaughnessy Distilling Company, based in Minneapolis, has officially opened with the launch of its flagship product, Keeper’s Heart Whiskey.
The family owned distillery is under the watchful eye of master distiller, Brian Nation, formerly of Jameson, Redbreast and Midleton distilleries in Ireland. His latest work comes in the form of Keeper’s Heart Whiskey, a unique blend of Irish and American whiskies that will be available in Minnesota from August, before rolling out across the US later in the year.
O’Shaughnessy Distilling Company was created by co-founding cousins, Patrick and Michael O’Shaughnessy, on the belief that shared experiences with family and friends provide real meaning in our lives. The duo had the vision to create world-class whiskeys with a mission to educate consumers, whiskey fans and aficionados about the process of making whiskeys inspired by their Irish American heritage.
“Our incredible family of partners including master distiller Brian Nation, construction team, designers, and so many more have made this journey incredible from start to finish and has helped turn our vision into reality,” said Patrick. “Education is a big part of our focus, and you’ll see this reinforced throughout our distillery and how we bring the brand to life. We are thrilled to have a team of exceptionally talented individuals that share our passion and values. We’re excited to showcase the quality, passion and integrity that goes into making these unique styles of whiskeys.”
Keeper’s Heart Whiskey is the passion project of Brian, aiming to combine the best of Irish and American whiskey traditions, Keeper’s Heart is a blend of Irish Triple Pot distilled whiskey, Irish Grain Whiskey and American Rye. Nation collaborated on the blending of the liquid with liquid collaborator and advisor, David Perkins, founder of High West Distillery.
“I can’t wait for everyone to try what has truly become my biggest passion project,” shared Brian. “To create a truly new and unique style of whiskey is a dream come true for any distiller and I can’t wait to continue experimenting and innovating with such a great team."
