Working with Innerstave, Pursuit Spirits gave its signature bourbon blend a secondary finish in seasoned French oak medium toasted staves. The brand says the finish gives the Double Oaked ‘bold oak notes’, complementing notes of butterscotch and caramel.
Ryan Cecil, master blender and co-founder of Pursuit Spirits, said: “As longtime fans of vintage whiskey, we wanted to craft something truly special that gave a nod to the best bottles we've been lucky enough to try over the years. This double oaked release encapsulates part of that nostalgic flavor profile but in a modern, premium bourbon experience.”
The Double Oaked Bourbon will be released in limited quantities, available from today at the Pursuit Spirits distillery. Retailers and bourbon clubs can also access the new expression via the Pursuit United Private Select Program.
Pursuit Spirits was founded in 2018 by the team behind the Bourbon Pursuit podcast. It offers a range of small-batch bourbons and ryes, and the single-barrel Pursuit Series.
