A decade on from its first release in 2015, Westland Distillery’s Garryana American Single Malt has reached the heights of a cult-like status. Now, the team has released the 10th Edition, created to reflect a decade of aging in the rare Quercus garryana oak that is native to the Pacific Northwest.
This edition is the first age-statement whiskey from the Seattle-based single malt producer, has been bottled at 100 proof at an SRP of $149.99.
Westland is famed for its exploration and that nature is perfectly exemplified in the garryana series.
“There is a magic to working with an oak species unique to our region. A shorthand for showcasing how Single Malt Whiskey makes sense here, from raw materials and climate to inspiration and collaboration,” says Shane Armstrong, Westland’s master blender who has led the Garryana series from the beginning. “Each edition seeks a supporting cast to concentrate or contrast. This release, our very first to boast an age statement, represents refinement over time, a small gesture to all those tasks tallied in service of something new.”
Garryana 10 will be available in Washington State beginning Saturday, October 18, and nationwide at select retailers beginning Monday, October 27. For information about Westland and Garryana, please visit www.westlanddistillery.com.
