Woodford Reserve has announced the release of a new limited-edition bottle as part of its Distillery Series – Blended Malt. This latest expression combines two different malt whiskeys: one a 100 per cent malt aged in used barrels and finished in a Ruby Port barrel, and the other a blend of five different styles of malt grains aged in new oak barrels.

Blended Malt is bottled at 90.4 proof (45.2% ABV) and is part of Woodford Reserve’s Distillery Series which was created to push the brand’s creative boundaries while introducing new expressions to market.

The producers have described the new release as having aromas of raspberry preserves, nutty malt and a hint of pumpkin spice, with notes of candied nutty malt, raw oak and citrus oils on the palate.

Commenting on the release, master distiller Elizabeth McCall said: “This showcases our ability to take complex barrels of whiskeys, blend them together and create a new flavorful product.”

Blended Malt is available at an MSRP of $64.99 per 375ml bottle and is available in limited quantities at select Kentucky retailers, and at Woodford Reserve Distillery. Shipping is also available to select states through the Woodford Reserve online store.
